چکیده

Abstract Joining the aluminium 6061-T6 alloy (Al6061-T6) using Electron Beam Welding (EBW) wais important, especially in aerospace. Although EBW method has been used for different materials literature, there are a limited number of studies Al6061-T6 alloy. The study aimed at weldability and welding quality plates by experimentally numerically technique. A numerical model generated to obtain appropriate voltage, beam current, speed parameters simulate process instead hit trial method, which is costly. based on user-defined function heat source as temperature, material properties. validation compared obtained width from experimental work. Three parameter sets were employed with model. determined according most suitable processing that emerged model, carried out. Experimental showed defects microstructure due unsuitable parameters. While mechanical strength was 70% tensile performance main material, elongation 75%. microhardness affected zone measured 84% base hardness reduction 40% also observed fusion zone. In addition, it proper set can eliminate such defects. application post-weld treatment procedures effectively improve properties could be investigated future studies.

Knowledge-based systems using neural networks for electron beam welding process of reactive material (Zircaloy-4)

Bead-on-plate welding of zircaloy-4 (a reactive material) plates was conducted using electron beam according to central composite design of experiments. Its predictive models were developed in the form of knowledge-based systems in both forward and reverse directions using neural networks. Input parameters considered for this welding of reactive metals were accelerating voltage, beam current an...

Stress Analysis of Switchover Module with Al6061-T6 and Al7075-T6 for Hybrid Locomotion Mobile Robot

This study presents the design and stress analysis of mobile robot switchover module (track tensioner), which helps the robot to work in hybrid locomotion mechanism. The track tensioner is a loading and unloading module that helps the locomotion system transformability while robot moves either on wheel or track mechanism. The selection of suitable material for its design, the model is therefore...

Material Flow Modeling in Friction Stir Welding of AA6061-T6 Alloy and Study of the Effect of Process Parameters

To understand the friction stir welding process, it is very important to know the nature of the material flow in and around the tool. The process is a combination of both thermal as well as mechanical work i.e. it is a coupled thermo-mechanical process. Numerical simulations are very much essential in order to obtain a complete knowledge of the process as well as the physics underlying it. In t...

Numerical and experimental study of thermally induced residual stress in the hybrid laser–GMA welding process

Amodel based on a double-ellipsoidal volumeheat source to simulate the gasmetal arcwelding (GMAW) heat input and a cylindrical volume heat source to simulate the laser beam heat input was developed to predict the temperature field and thermally induced residual stress in the hybrid laser–gas metal arc (GMA) welding process. Numerical simulation shows that higher residual stress is distributed i...

Numerical and experimental study of the heat transfer process in friction stir welding

A mathematical model to describe the detailed three-dimensional transient heat transfer process in friction stir welding (FSW) is presented. This work is both theoretical and experimental. An explicit central diVerential scheme is used in solving the control equations, the heat transfer phenomena during the tool penetrating, the welding and the tool-removing periods that are studied dynamically...
